Thierry Henry has revealed he thinks Paris Saint-Germain are a more stable team without Kylian Mbappe, who has joined Real Madrid.
The former Arsenal and France forward has told CBS Sport how PSG have changed since Mbappe moved to Real Madrid this summer.
“I think they’re a team.” Henry told host Jamie Carragher UFABET
“They are a little bit more stable, less counter-attacking. But they still lose Mbappe.”
Henry and Carragher review PSG’s performance at PSV in the Champions League on Tuesday night. Which ended in a 1-1 draw at the Parc des Princes.
The 47-year-old said the result was a fair reflection of PSG’s overall ability without Mbappe.
“It’s very difficult. For example, in a game like that. Kylian can make it 2-1 or score the winner at the end of the game. Which is a magical moment. He can turn the situation around.”
“You lose a little bit of magic, but the team looks more balanced. But obviously the results weren’t good enough.”
That result leaves PSG with work to do if they’re to qualify automatically for the round of 16. They have four points from their opening three matches and lie in 17th place before Wednesday’s fixtures, several spots beneath the coveted top eight. The situation is rosier in France, where PSG lead Ligue 1 after going unbeaten through their first eight games, but Henry believes Mbappe’s exit has impacted their ability to turn close encounters, such as the PSV fixture, into wins.
