Former midfielder Paul Merson is confident Arsenal can beat Nottingham Forest when the two sides meet in the Premier League on Saturday.

“It’s a tough game for Arsenal because they can’t afford to lose anymore. They have to keep winning, it’s as simple as that,” Merson said. “Nottingham Forest are better away from home but the defeat at Newcastle is a sign of their good start fading away.”
“I felt Arsenal’s midfield was too strong for Forest in this game. The likes of Martin Odegaard and Thomas Partey will control the game. Forest are always dangerous on the counter-attack. But I’m not sure how much Chris Wood will cause full-backs William Saliba and Gabriel Magalhaes.”
“This is like a final for Arsenal, a must-win game. Mikel Arteta and the team have a good schedule and hopefully they can do well. I’m backing them to win the next six or seven games and it starts with this one.”
For the result, Merson gave Arsenal a 3-1 win.
